Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to patients with wounds, ulcers, and other skin conditions. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in promoting healing and preventing complications.
Duties:
- Assessing and evaluating patients' wounds, including the type, size, and severity
- Developing and implementing individualized wound care plans
- Cleaning and dressing wounds using sterile techniques
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitoring patients' progress and documenting changes in wound status
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Educating patients and their families on proper wound care techniques
-Educating staff on proper wound care techniques and overseeing program.
- Providing emotional support to patients during the healing process
Skills:
- Proficiency in wound assessment, management, and treatment techniques
- Knowledge of catheterization procedures
- Experience with CT (Computed Tomography) scans for wound evaluation
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and interpret their significance in wound healing
- Understanding of tube feeding procedures and protocols
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Familiarity with wound care in nursing home settings
- Experience in ophthalmology-related wound care is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Requirements:
- Valid nursing (RN) license in New Jersey
- 2 years of Proven experience as a Wound Care Nurse or similar role
- Wound Care Certified
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
